Farm thoughts by Kris

It’s been four years now since I moved my life down to a sheep farm in rural south central Kentucky and I thought it was time to share my thoughts:

1. I have never worked harder in my life! There are times that I LIVE for Monday morning so that I can go to “work” at my job in town to rest.

2. I love my farm life! I love the animals, the land, the chores, and everything that makes up a farm .

3. I love my tiny farm house! Some of you may know what my big beautiful house in MI was like, but despite missing my great kitchen...my little house is perfect.

4. I am so lucky to be able to live and work with my husband , daughter and son-in-law. It has been hard at times to work so closely together but we are committed to this farm and to making it a success.

5. The people of our small town are some of the kindest and most friendly out there. They are always willing to help us out if we need it and we appreciate that so much.

6. I may have grown up as a city girl but I am slowly becoming a country girl.

7. Chickens are the BEST! Why didn’t I have chickens before? They are super friendly, I can pet them, and fresh eggs are amazing!

8. I wish my family lived closer. I see the people around here who have their families so close by and I wish I could just stop by my mom and dad’s, or my sister’s house so easily.

9. How did we end up with 17 dogs? I know most of them have true “jobs” on the farm, but still...17? Crazy! But I love them all! Hoss, Zero, Willow, Belle, Pistol, Sasha, Lola, Franklin, Leah, Bailey, RJ, Maggie, Morley, Anna, Mitch, Glenn and Taylor ❤️

10. Life is short. Don’t wait for the perfect moment. Go for it and see what happens!
